You're Not Alone
in This
We're Team Vera - medical students building a community where epilepsy is understood, not feared. Through stories, education, and each other.
The Reality
Epilepsy Is More Common
Than You Think
Behind every number is someone navigating life, relationships, and dreams with epilepsy. Our mission is to create a safe environment and raise awareness - to help ease their burden.
0M+
People worldwide
Live with epilepsy right now. That's more than the entire population of Spain.

People in India
One of the highest burdens globally, yet awareness remains dangerously low.

With proper treatment. Knowledge and access are the barriers, not the condition.

Will experience a seizure in their lifetime
Seizures don't discriminate. Any age, any background, any family. Knowing what to do - and what not to do - matters for everyone, not just those already affected.
Understanding Epilepsy
It’s Not What
Most People Think
Epilepsy is surrounded by myths that fuel stigma. Let's start with what's actually true.
“You can swallow your tongue during a seizure”
Physically impossible. Never put anything in someone’s mouth during a seizure.
“Epilepsy means you can’t live a normal life”
Most people with epilepsy lead full, active lives with proper treatment and support.
“Seizures always look like convulsions”
Some look like brief staring spells or moments of confusion. Every person is different.
Knowledge Saves Lives
Knowing basic seizure first aid - what to do and what not to do - can prevent injury and save lives. Our resources tab has patient-led videos that teach you exactly that.
Community Voices
Stories That Connect Us
Real words from real people.
I spent years hiding my condition. Finding people who understand without judgment... it’s everything. This community gave me the courage to talk about it openly.
Support Group Participant
Living with epilepsy since age 14
I didn’t realize how much basic knowledge I lacked - even as a med student - when it came to seizure first aid. Vera filled in the gaps the textbooks never covered.
